Re: Stuarts Loach (OH-6A)
Ah well I must be bonkers...
Having moaned and grumped about this kit and it's awful fit - I've just ordered another one, abeit the AH-6A 'Night Fox' boxing, along with the Airwaves PE set....
At least I know the issues and should hopefully make a better job of it. Having the doors on should also help hid the gaps..
Cheers,
Stuart.
Oh and the varnish is on, all I've got to do is fit the overheads, tint them green and paint tge skids black.I know a chap who has discussed this aircraft with Hugh Mills, the man who flew the bird in Veitnam - he said they were black...
Small world.

Re: Stuarts Loach (OH-6A)
I can attest that the OH6 is a tight fit. I am 6ft 4in and only set in the Loach a few times. It was tight. And aircrews complained much like today with the Kiowa Warrior that after getting strapped in the is no room for helmet bags and the like.

Having seen one up close I know how dinky this is. Great result.

Re: Stuarts Loach (OH-6A)**Finished**
Well got my next chopper kit - the Tamiya boxing of the Italeri 1/72 AH-6 Night Fox. It came in the post this morning along with some PE for it. One nice surprise is that you have the option of building an IAF MD500 Defender withthe FLIR pod on the nose and 4 TOW missiles so I'll be doing that - too late for the GB but I've already started it.
I've built up the cabin and added to the doors to the fuse, as Splash had already noted, having the doors off made the poor cabin fit more noticable, as this one appears to fit pretty well. Hopefully I shall enjoy this one a bit more. I have the PE set to add, and I also plan to drill out the vent hole in the nose section as per the real aircraft. I Might, add a rocket pod on one side as the IAF Defenders (nickname: Trick) could carry either. Apprantly these aircraft took part in the first Anti-Tank Helicopter Vs. Tank battle - not sure how good that source is but it sounds good. They also took part in some pretty heavy Tank battles against Syria.
Anyone - upwards and onwards.
Regards
Stuart
