Beany's Italeri 1/48 Wessex HU.5

Italeri 1/48 Wessex HU.5

Here are the usual start up shots (taken a while ago if I'm perfectly honest, but I haven't done any work on her before now.
I was so excited when this kit came out I think I paid full RRP for it in the local (and now defunct) hobby shop!

Nice side box art of the variants that can be built with the supplied kit decal schemes. I like the way Italeri do this - Airfix have started doing in on their box tops but often the images are too small for my liking.Image

Decal sheet.

Nice little photo-etch set...

...and even some meshing.

A few sprue shots but not the full shebang.

One of the sprues with a 1/72 Hobby Boss P-40 on top to give an indication of the size of the 1/48 chopper.

Right, let's get stuck into it then. :bounce:
Cheers

Italeri have given us a good selection of decal choices with this kit, it's a shame 874 squadron didn't exist  as a Wessex Squadron but 847 did :-D

The 771 squadron markings look good, what colours are you going for?

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Royal Navy RAE, Farnborough version on account of my first house after getting married was just up the road in Aldershot, and my family home isn't far away in Bagshot, so often used to get taken to Farnborough Airshow as a nipper in the 60's and took myself in the 70's and 80's.

Looks nice out of the box Al. I've notice they are putting extras in the boxes lately, got to justify their quite high prices I expect.
