Tim's Albatros D.III *Finished*
Here's what I'll be building. It will be OOB with the kit markings for Werner Voss' aircraft.
The instructions do have a basic rigging diagram so I'll be doing some basic rigging. Now, where's my EZ line?

Good selection. We are being spoilt for choice on this GB.
Perhaps we should have a 101 years since the start of WW1 GB next year.

Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto

Re: Tim's Albatros D.III
Its taken a while to get going on this one but I actually got some paint and glue on it today. Once Werner was on board I closed up the fuselage and fitted the lower wing.

I'll keep my eye on this one, as I had planned on building the same kit in the GB but I've not even managed to get the thing out of its box!

Re: Tim's Albatros D.III
A bit more progress. After I finished painting the wings I removed the masking tape from the upper wing, gave it a couple of coats of Klear and applied the decals.
Meanwhile the fuselage has had some filler and the seams sanded down.
I'll be at the Wombourne show most of tomorrow but I might get a bit more work done on it in the evening. It's looking like this will be another one moving over to the workbench. And I still haven't found my EZ Line.

I gave the tail a couple of coats of white this evening.
I should be able to get the fuselage painted tomorrow.

Looking good
You've inspired me to pull out my Roden D.III at some point and use the decals from this to make Voss's other mount.

What a difference a day makes. The fuselage has been painted apart from a few details and the undercarriage has been assembled.
Most of the rest of the parts have been painted too.

Re: Tim's Albatros D.III
Thanks Nigel.
Not quite finished yet. The guns, engine and wheels have been added.
The struts have been fitted to the upper wing.
A quick mock up with the upper wing in place.
You can't say that it's not colourful.

Re: Tim's Albatros D.III
Looks like it might even fly with just the bottom wing on.
Nice scheme.

That's given me an idea. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on another one.Clashcityrocker wrote:Looks like it might even fly with just the bottom wing on.
