Lancfan's Tadpole Tank ***FINISHED***

A World War One GB - any subject, any scale, 1914-1918 - this is not a 1914-specific GB.
Runs 6 weeks, July 28th to September 8th, to allow plenty of time for biplanes, rigging, and holidays.

Thanks iggie, Tim, Nigel, John, these simple kits do build up very well and look very effective, it just proves that you don't need a shed load of parts to make a convincing model and with a little stowage etc. they would look even better. I am going to use this kit for a number of conversions this year.

Excellent work David. It's a really imaginative way to finish the kit.

Thanks Mark, Dazzled, VV. Deciding on how best to build this did take a little thought as, as far as is known it did not go into service although "a number" of tail conversion kits did go to France. I found this image on the IWM website, taken in spring 1918 at the massive Central workshops complex at Teneur, Pas-De-Calais

After checking the Landships II site for details of the Renault tanks I also visited the pages for the other surviving rhomboids for future builds. I now realise that one of the parts supplied with the mortar sprue is actually the upper rear armour plate missing from the normal mark 4 kits so this has been fitted along with a plastic card lower armour panel.
