Lancfan's brace of Renault *** FINISHED ***

A World War One GB - any subject, any scale, 1914-1918 - this is not a 1914-specific GB.
Runs 6 weeks, July 28th to September 8th, to allow plenty of time for biplanes, rigging, and holidays.
Your GBL is Chris, assisted by jRatz.

OK, so the GB was 6 weeks, it's 5-1/2 gone, and you're half done :???:

Well half of the brace anyway, both models were built side by side and the M1917 should be completely finished tonight.

A lot of work has gone into this. Looks like a winner to me.

Cheers Toby, well the pair of tanks have been built side by side as far as possible before finishing the Renault tank, with one half of the pair finished I was able to finish the other tank tonight and this is now being painted.

US Army M1917 Six Ton Tank, c.1918.

Both models pictured together along with a threepenny bit for scale.

so that ends my third build thread and my fourth model for "The Guns of August" These kits are very good value, especially so as you get two tanks in the kit! they may be merely simple wargame tanks but they do scrub up well and there are two versions of the kit, one with the Omnibus turret and machine gun and another with the Girod turret and light cannon. I will build other models from this kit at some point as there are more conversion possibilities for it.

Great work. You must be fairly happy and quite rightly so.

Very good and I do like your "quick & dirty" detailing, it adds so much ...

Thanks Toby, John, in this scale I find that a brushed wash over the appropriate areas followed by a quick blast of air from the airbrush dirties up a tank sufficiently for most models, sometimes I may follow this up with a dry powder weathering of artist's pastel to really dirty things down.
