The story so far, the (missing) pilot figures are meant to be held in place by thick pegs projecting from the inside of the fuselage, these pegs have been milled away with the power drill and a routing bit and the fuselage halves have been glued together. Below the fuselage is the lower wing panel, the large holes for the floats and the bomb are in the way of the new undercarriage so these have been filled in the easiest way- to gently stretch some sprue to make plugs and glue these in place, blocking the holes. When the glue is dry I will mill these flush and the wheel well apertures can be cut out of the lower wing. Below that is a tapered piece of plastic card I have just cut, this will be used to extend the rear fuselage prior to filling the gap with car filler and finally for now the flaps have been engraved in the upper wing halves with the razor saw. While that glue dries I will have breakfast.

This was my breakfast, happily it is no more (yum) and now on to the model, I have cut the tail away from the fuselage and trimmed the plastic card wedge to fit inside the fuselage from the wing seating, this has been glued in place and is now drying before I trim it short for the tail to be re-attached, when that has dried I can then apply the car filler to build up the rear fuselage, pictures TFAIG.

Good luck. That looks like quite a project for a Blitz...good thing you're properly nourished!

The model as it is now, the fuselage has been lengthened, the wheelbays have been cut out of the wings and the wheel well roof has been added to the wing upper halves using plastic card to prevent the see-through effect that would otherwise result from the surgury. THe wings have been glued together and the fuselage gap has been filled and the lower rear fuselage has been reprofiled using car filler.

The fin/rudder post has been shaped, a plastic card cockpit floor has been glued to the wing centre section and the seats have in turn been glued to that, the flaps have been separated from the wing and the wing has been dry fitted to the fuselage for the picture.

A scratchbuilt cockpit was added to the plastic card floor and the crude kit radiator was replaced by a spare Revell Lancaster radiator which is just the right size and shape for the kit. It's now time for a coffee.
