I've probably spent too much time working on the seams, but the bottom of the plane was driving me nuts, with the big gap around where the bottom of the wing fit into the top portion. I think I've got it under control now.
In an effort to speed the process, I used liquid paper (called Wite Out here). It dries quick and sands up easily enough.
Before working on the underside, I tried the prop on the plane and noticed that the doo-dad that holds the prop to the plane is WAY off center....
...so out came the razor saw to "correct" the issue. Now the prop will be glued flush to the fuselage. I then on got onto addressing the bottom.
Step 1. Mask the areas where I'll be putting the liquid paper and apply. I like to do this so I don't have to clean too much more than necessary.
Step 2. Wait about a minute and remove the masking.
Step 3. Using sanding paper, sanding sticks, and files, clean up the Wite Out.
The finished product turned out OK. I was then able to attached the rockets.
I think it's ready for some color now.
Now that the rockets are on, I can start including rockets in my strafing attacks! I'd been limited to guns only on all of my strafing runs so far. I think in the past 2 hours, the Tempest has had about a dozen attacks on the Tamiya cement bottle.
Heading out to the grocery now, but hope to put some color on the bottom before I leave.
