Hour five and I am getting a little grumbly in the tumbly.

At any rate the Corsair has found legs. Also the bomb has been painted.

Don't cha just miss the 80's. The Fixx toured with the Moddy Blues in the mid 80's. I remember them as being just a little down on my Country. Sort of biting the hand that fed them. But loved their music.

Hour six and there appears a daughter unit at the entry to the model bench. A tray of shaved ham, turkey, cheese and crackers plus a special can of soda. But the treat came with a mission. Can I put air in the tire for her. And of course I can. I am loved after all.

Image

And speaking of tires, they are mounted along with a 500lb bomb.

Image

Here is what all of that looks like.

Image

And I looked into the abyss and only the canopy and a landing light lens stared back.

Image

Hour six time hack.

Image

Better get to mixing the intermediate blue. Oops, after my vehicle maintenence.

Food for a top up of air sounds like a fare swap to me.

Hour seven and it is time to ride hard. Mission complete and some serious painting to do on now.

The prop is only dry fit to check things out.

Image

I have to say at as kit construction goes, this one is a blast. As far as actual costs are concerned you get a pretty fine rendition of the Corsair for a fraction of the cost of the eastern issues.

A little Boz anyone?

Hour eight and the intermediate blue is on. Lots of masking as I used a light shade forthe fabric areas.

Image

And of course the time hack.

Image

Not even sure where this one came to mind. But I think I will be going away for awhile after this Blitz.

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Looking great. What a quick build.

Would love a closer pic of what you did to the exhausts.

Hour nine and due to some heavy duty masking the time slipped away.

Here is where we are at 15:00 EDT

Image

The small patches are just that. At least in the photographs I have seen for Big Hog.

Image

As requested, a close up of the holes that were drilled to simulate the exhaust. After the chaulk dusting it will hide my impatience.

Image

And the time hack.

Image

To make up for that last moldy oldie. Here ya go.

Hour eleven. Just waiting on the Future to set up so I can finish things up. The Academy decals are thin but stiff and have a bad tendency to stick where they lay. Use more water than usual to move them about.

And with that note. It is getting near.

Hour twelve on the mark. First time today I timed out the site.

I am calling this one complete.

Overall I really enjoyed this build and it did not seem like a very long day at all.

Glamour shots in the AM. Dinner time in these coordinates.

Thanks for watching.

Time to my celebration of Scotch and Water.

Cheers
