despondman's Airfix P-51D Mustang **Finished**

Post by despondman »

I find it impossible to plan a blitz for a given day and was hoping that I might find a day before the month runs out, and today is the day.
A day off work and with my original plans for the day cancelled I am going to blitz the Airfix P-51D Mustang.

Great choice of blitz kit. I will keep popping in as I progress on my blitz build.

An hour and a quarter in and the cockpit is almost there.
I am using the pilot figure as I am going to do this on with landing gear up.

Total agreement on your build. And you are well prepared.

Cockpit now in place.

And fuselage very soon together. Its at this point I feel as though I am actually making some progress.

I am not an expert on these things but to me this model is really nicely designed, it certainly goes together exceedingly well.

This update has been delayed as I have been having problems with my router, anyway hope it holds out to do this post.

First the wings went together easily.

And were a perfect fit to the fuselage.

And at the end of hour three I had got to this point.

Cracking along here. I am glad your wing fit was good. I had problems with mine when I did one but it is still a great kit. What colour scheme are you planning?

I'm just doing the box colour scheme OT - which I do like anyway.

All the model building is now done, life made a lot easier by doing landing gear up, ready to start painting.
