This will be my first blitzed Spitfire, it will be built over a 24 hour period starting at 10.00 AM on Saturday 9th August and I will finish it in the markings of CF-NUS.

They do don't they, I am going to use the other three markings on Airfix kits later on and may save one for the next Spitfire GB.

Looking forward to this. Never built the AZ kit but I have the 'Joy Pack' in the stash. The kids got me it for my birthday, the name made them laugh.

It is now 09.47 hrs and the bench is set up for the first blitz since I revamped my workbench to increase my working space, the tools and paints etc. that I will need for the build and the kit are laid out on and around the work bench and the alarm clock is set for 10.00 hrs- when it rings I will start.

Hello VV, Jeff, the detail painting is done and The quality of the detail is superb, I really can't fault the parts of this kit but whilst waiting for one colour to dry I looked at the very nice decal sheet and noticed that part of the sheet was not properly varnished and will break up if I try to use them, this means that the clear screen was partly clogged when the varnish pass was made on this sheet, I have varnished over this by brush but I am unsure of how stable this will be and have to decide NOW as to whether I should spray the whole thing with varnish to ensure it holds together when I need the decals later, its a no brainer really- it will have to be done. I have also mixed a small quantity of paint for this model to match the online pictures I found of CF-NUS.

Good luck with your decal problem. I like the blue colour you have on the wheels.
