It is a common myth that one should have the smell of fresh baked goods wafting through your home when prospective buyers come though .... but it's really the smell of thinners & solvents that hook 'em - stand your groundMigrant wrote: ....
Since today is a holiday here in Canada I'm hoping for a fairly undisturbed day. The only caveat is that we're in the middle of selling our home, so should there be a showing I'll have to pack everything up and vacate the house for a while.

Steak, chips, beer and a fabulously built model. Have I died and gone to heaven?

2030: Thanks for the encouragement guys I'm almost 12 hours into this, and this is the state-of-play. Not as far as I'd hoped to be, but maybe still do-able. The airframe is virtually complete, I just need to add the masked canopy, blank off the wheel wells and it's almost ready for primer.
Undercarriage doors are also done and ready to go.
Still lots of smaller stuff to do - paint the prop tips yellow, add aerials and of course the drop-tanks. Better get on with it....

Mike,
How dare you build such a nice Mustang after enjoying a few beers and a steak sandwich. On a holiday no less...
Not that I'm jealous or anything!

Cheers Jim
I'm about to pack in for the night, as my eyesight's getting blurry. Here's where it's at:-
2140: Tamiya white primer has been sprayed on the model and subassemblies. Since it dries immediately, I was able to move straight on to the main painting.
2200: I'd forgotten how superbly Xtracrylix sprays once it's thinned properly. Although it's touch dry after a few minutes I'm going to leave it overnight to cure properly before I mask the red areas, and apply the decals.
That's it for today. Thanks for looking, see you in the morning.

I've never followed a Blitzbau before so I find this fascinating. You have achieved more in quality of detail in a few hours than I could do in days. Superb work.

Re: Migrant's Haitian Horse
I will point out that a proper steak sandwich has a pile of thinly sliced steak, Cheez-whiz, and onions, and is best found within 50 miles of the center of Philadelphia.
Your steak, however, is quite noble and deserves to be eaten without the bread - and yes, you can pick it up in your fingers ....
