The Blitzbau House *** Finished ***

Post by Old_Tonto »

The usual suspects will be gathering for a straight 24 hour blitz.

I will attempt to complete this Airfix 1/72 Spitfire XIX in Swedish markings:

You can never have too many you know. :-D

Cosmic will be joining me, he intends to do this Tamiya classic (that might have changed since I last spoke to him):

Image

I think he is bringing some homemade Rhubarb Vodka! Useful for cleaning brushes me thinks.

Paul is providing the venue, bacon butties, refreshments & entertainment. Also the internet connection which is quite important.
We will try to remain fully clothed & sober throughout. (The Mankini order hasn't arrived yet!)

I am sure you are all grateful for that.

We might even convince Finnski to join the build if only he could find his Mojo.

There will be a slight delay whilst we wait for Cosmic.

He sent me a text with the words "Wife, drill & Fargo" in the same sentence! should I be worried? :???:

And we are off at 5:30 pm.

Image

A little later than planned but still sober. Started with a coffee & banana muffins.

Image

Quite a few bits to the Panzer 2 so Cosmic may leave out the infantry.

Image

Image

My Spitfire has less parts but is not Tamiya.

Image

I started by painting the interior green.

More to follow & I will try to update as much as possibly.

Good to have you with us Jeff.

Just about to head out for some stoggy food so a quick update.
Cosmic is cracking on:

Image

Whilst my spit is making progress. No IP decal or detail though, dab Mr. Airfix.

Image

I have painted the details black then dry-brushed it with silver. Not sure much will be visible though!

Munching on pizza with SWMBO right now too. Ordered it on line. Who's better than me. Music coming from the bar down the way. Lovely evening.

Meat feast with garlic sauce for me. It's going to be a bit ripe in here in the morning!
The Spitfire is all together

Image

Image

I have filled the few gaps since these images were taken. Its a lovely fit. 8-)
Just working on those small parts, prop, U/C & exhausts. I usually leave those until last & am then rushed. Not this time, I made some plans.

The Tamiya Panzer is falling together & Cosmic is doing great things with his little men.

Image

Image

This is a cracking kit. Not sure how accurate it is but we don't care.

Just watching World War Z.

Cosmic has adopted his usual position

Image

So I think we are going to catch some shut eye now.
In the morning I will get a coat of PRU Blue on the Spitfire & the Pz2 looks like it is ready for a coat of sand like paint.

I have discovered that Airfix have got the decals wrong so I will address that tomorrow. I also need to finish painting the prop & hub.

Night all. Hope you can join us tomorrow, cold pizza for brekky.
