Thanks guys. As you can tell sleep alludes me. The Blitzbau House neighbors had a party until 3am & then someones house alarm went off about 5:30am & is still going!

I have nipped home for a quick shower only to find the door chained from the inside. So here I am stood on the doorstep debating whether to wake SWAMBO or wait a while. It is now 6:51 here. :???: Its a lovely morning but a little chilly, still, I am picking up the WiFi signal. I think I will browse the web for ten minutes then ring the door bell.

Cosmic is still flat out on the sofa - he could sleep through an air raid.

Back in the Blitz house now & Cosmic has risen from the dead. Our host is still asleep so we have not had our bacon butties. :frown: . Cold Pizza for starters then.

Just realized that I keep forgetting to include a clock in this threat so here we are at 8:30.

Image
Everything is blue. 8-)

The Spit has had a coat of klear in preparation for decals & the Panzer in outside drying after a coat of some rattle can sand colour. Pics to follow.

I have dug out these decals from Carpena as the roundels are more like the images in these photos:
Image
As you can see Carpena made the same mistake as Airfix in making the number yellow. It should either be a white 60 or a yellow 40 after September 1949. I have some suitable white numbers so I will use those.

Image
Image
These are the plane I am building and as you can see the prop hub is yellow. :???:
I suppose this aircraft could have been transferred to another squadron which the colour donates.

This image clearly shows the contrast between the dark blue of the roundel and the PRU blue:
Image

Anyway, I like the look of the red so will go with Airfix on this one.

Ans some green:

Meanwhile bits & bobs for the Spitfire are getting there:

I have decided to make the lower camera windows out of PVA.

Welcome aboard David. I will have a look at your build whilst my decals dry.

Progress. The Spitfire is up on her legs & decals are going on. The correct white numbers are from flying colors, kit provided serial, number 11 & shield. Carpena will provide the roundels unless they disintegrate - which has happened before. :???:

Image

The Panzer 2 is looking very nice although it nearly went airborne when cosmic was trying to fit the tracks.

Should be finished in time for lunch & a pint.

Well would you believe it, all done in under 19 hours and no dramas! 8-)

That's never happened before. So here we go (glamor shots to follow.)

Spitfire S.31, Swedish Air Force 1947

Image
She may get a satin coat & some staining later but not too much.
No problems with this build. Just a little disappointing that the IP is so sparse, no wheel bay details at all & markings incorrect. Maybe Airfix will re-release it with other options.

The old Tamiya classic Panzer II though turned out a real winner:

That all went too well. Must see if I can squeeze in another one before the end of the month. Bye for now & thanks for watching.

Well done all of you, they have turned out very good indeed, particularly like the changes made to the Spitfire, have made a note of this for when I build the Swedish version.

Thanks David. I am still not sure of the prop hub colour but I can change that if need be. I have the 1/48 kit in the to build pile.

Here is an excerpt from Spitfire International relating to this aircraft.

And I just came across this but can not vouch for it's accuracy.

These decals look very good & are available in 1/72, 48 & 32 scale.

Hope this helps with your project.
