Ooops! Drat, Drat and Double Drat! Must be a candidate for 'Dickk Dastardly's' Vulture Squadron then...

[Edit] Just found something interesting. Had to put an extra 'k' in Dickk for Dickk Dastardly, as the Forum automatically turns one without the extra k into 'Richard'...

Put or in the word and it should sort that out.

Slight delay on the Dart Herald as there is some flash and is short shot in places, the flash isn't a problem but the missing bits need replacing and I am mending this with sprue paste so this will take a few days to be dry enough to sand down, in the meantime I have picked a simpler Frog kit with which to pass the time.

As the stop-gap Comet Racer build is now finished I really have to decide how to treat this model as time is going by and we are halfway through the month, I have repaired the already damaged parts and caused a little more damage in doing so and have also repaired that, the model is now ready to be built, I do want to add details to this but much of what I could add will not be seen and the cockpit windows are so small that there doesn't seem much point in adding any real detail to the flight deck. However the forward and rear baggage compartments and the extreme rear of the passenger cabin will be visible if I leave the access doors open so this is certainly an option. The passenger windows do not fit at all well and will be replaced by Glue'N'Glaze. The quality of the parts is really quite bad when compared to what the kit must have looked like when in a Frog box, it is such a shame that this aeroplane will probably never be kitted again.

Despite deciding to limit what I fitted inside I still got a little carried away and have scratchbuilt new cockpit and rear cabin sections. These are the basic units under construction with the nose weight concealed in the nose/cockpit.

I say - very nice work, David!

Are those plaster cast passenger seats? What was the pattern?

Cheers Paul, bluesteel.
Paul, the seats are cast in resin from a scratch built original.

Having got carried away even further I have decided to included dummy seat backrests to be seen through the windows.

These have been made from Das Clay pressed into a Militut mould made by copying the back of one of the resin seats used earlier. This is the mould after it had dried.

The Das Clay has now been pressed into the mould and is drying off.
