Looks great so far! What colour is the interior on one of these?

I tend to use RLM 02 or RLM 66 for the interior of Luftwaffe kits, depending on the year that the decals depict.

Re: Chip's He 219 'UHU' Night Fighter
Having returned from a week away I seem to be getting snowed under with work and really cannot see myself finishing this. Every time I get a bit of time to do something I end up making a mess of it and it puts me back even further, this is seriously testing my patience.

Re: Chip's He 219 'UHU' Night Fighter
Having made an extra effort to do some work on this I have managed to get the main painting done:
The mottling was not as difficult as first anticipated, I used a cotton bud dipped into thinned paint and slowly worked my way over it.

The cotton bud technique has worked a treat as looks very consistent.

Excellent mottle effect. I too might nick the cotton bud idea. Tried it with a stipple brush once with mixed results, your method looks a lot better.

Yes, on the cotton buds, I might look at that for fuzzy camo demarcation also - Thanks !

Nice camo, didn't think of buds. I would have gone the blu tak blobs way.

Re: Chip's He 219 'UHU' Night Fighter
Thanks for the comments guys. I found that by using a cotton bud I could vary the size of the blob by the amount of pressure I used, and by rotating it a little bit each time you can vary the shape! I have been pushing on with this in the hope of finishing by Friday night, hence the lack of updates but all is looking good. All I have left to do is give it a coat of matt varnish and then fit the landing lights, glamour pictures to follow.

Re: Chip's He 219 'UHU' Night Fighter
Finally finished:
This is a cracking kit but annoyingly I did not have as much time to work on it as I had hoped. Apart from the dodgy fit of the engine nacelles and the problem of it being a tail sitter it builds up quite well.
To overcome the tail sitting I will eventually build a base so that the front wheel extension can be glued into it:
