Blohm's Explosive Tadpole and Flying Frog Legend

Post by BlohmWolf »

If you haven't guessed already, I will be doing the V 1 and Spitfire dogfight double set from the 1970s.

Pics to come later, and I've already made a start! :-D

I'm back!

Not sick anymore, no more exams, no more annoying obstructions, so I can finally get back into the swing of things!

Keep in mind, this pics were taken at the start of the month and I have gotten further.

The pretty fun boxart

Mixed with its lonesome parts

But it comes with a cool stand. So I'm happy.

The first froggy to be built is the V-1. Which can go from this:

To this:

It fits pretty well in my hand too.

More progress when I finish my cake.

The little froggy is a matte shade of green. Or at least its first coat. Getting back into the swing of enamels reminds me of waiting for coats to dry...

The spitfire was a complete snap. Apart from the flash that needed grinding off, it was fine.

Image

The intake underneath needs hollowing out like the V-1s Pulse Jet, which I can do tomorrow.

I'm now going to watch Hogan's Heroes. And if anyone wants to ask me any questions:

I KNOW NUSSINK, NUSSINK!

Nice work so far. It doesn't look like a bad kit considering its age.

The V-1 was completely Handbrushed BTW

I just need some more detailing and I'll call it done.

More progress tomorrow!

Coming along nicely. The V-1 looks very well finished and painted.

Thanks Clash. I'll make sure that this model be finished before the GB time runs out. I have to break the no-model streak

Great job on the V1 BW, you seem to be missing an undercarriage on the Spit though. I have given us all an extra couple of days so you should get finished in time.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDGE!

A disaster as even after a big scrub down with grease-removal detergent and hot water, paint will STILL not stick to it! Its instead just either turned into brush strokes or rolled all the way down to the underside! :boom:

Ok, I'll sand it off and try again.

I find an undercoat of good old Halfords rattlecan grey primer usually cures any greasy model of non paint stick issues :)

Doh! I hate it when that happens, I had a similar problem with my Airfix Super Mystere kit on the Classic Jet GB.
