Daz's Desert Spitfire **FINISHED**

Post by DazDaMan »

Fingers crossed, this wee beastie should arrive in plenty time from overseas....

I've never built one of these before, but as it'll be OOB, I'm hoping I won't have many issues.

PS - It's MartinR's fault for posting the photo of his example in the Spit vs V1 thread! :ha:

Daz,

The Spit builds up quite nicely, but if built oob the wings will probably come out a bit 'flat' if you look at them from the front. If this does not offend your eye, then fair enough. If it does, a bit of careful sanding of the fuselage wing root junction will help. This may require some filling afterwards.

Oh, and the detailed cockpit interior may take you some time to build / paint.

regards,

Martin

I can live with that! ;-)

Really, though, I do look forward to building it. Well, once I've chosen its paint scheme!

The Spitfire arrived today! :) It'll have to wait until my Airfix Mk.IX is done, but that won't take me a huge amount of time! ;-)

I've not posted any updates yet because this kit has simply fallen together - I like it!

Thus far, the cockpit interior is painted, although the seat is yet to be installed.

The airframe components are all together, and fingers crossed I've sorted that dihedral issue. Will know for sure once I take off the rubber bands.

Painting tomorrow....

I'll post up a few pics later, but I've minced the painting of this one, so I'm having to strip it off to bare plastic and start again! :frown:

Starting to paint the innards...

I'm currently trying to strip off the paint since I made a mess of it yesterday. If that doesn't work, I do have a back-up plan...!
