Stuarts Sea Venom **DNF**

Post by Stuart »

I'm going to be doing the 1/72 FROG Sea Venom FAW mk.21 with Airwaves PE.

I may even attempt a wing fold...

Cheers

Nice. Look forward to the wing fold if you go that way.

Thanks Toby, Theres the option to have folded wings as part of the PE set, I've never attempted anything like it before so it might be worth ago. Not sure how strong it will be however....

Great choice of kit, it's a little gem. Here is a link to my build as part of the Naval A/C GB http://www.uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=269&t=8943

I will enjoy watching this build as I have always liked the DH twin boomers.

Me too David. I think I shall have to do an airfix T.11 to go next to it.

Cheers

I agree!

Having been up since 4:30 I managed to get an hours modelling time this morning. I've managed to get the pit assembled and painted and the fuse halves together.

I've had to bin the PE cockpit idea as dry fitting shows it would never fit. I could barely get the seats to fit. I don't know who designed the PE but I think it must have been for another model. Whixh doesn't really fill me with confidence when it comes to the wing fold. So I may re-think that too given my lack of time this month.

Cheers

IIRC the fuselage is quite thick and would probably need thinning down to get much more in it. That said I've got a couple of W/M sets to to furnish my remaining ones.

I always treat PE as a pick and mix. Use what you can, where it matters and looks better than what's already there.
