Thanks Tim!

Oleg, it'll be FAA as I want to build up a collection of FAA aircraft to sit alongside my RAF collection (hence the Hellcat as well). I also have a Wildcat and a couple of Fulmars to be getting on with.

Cheers

Sorry guys but it appears that the good old Templeton curse has struck again. Both my FROG GB Hellcat and Classic Jet GB Sea Venom are DNF.

Having sorted out the paint Issue I had on the wing of the Hellcat and re-scribed and polished the pod and booms on the Venom after a fair bit sanding I was pretty pleased with them. Imagine my surprised then when I got into my car to do a bit of lunchtime plastic bashing and found both models had warped! And I mean warped. The Venom’s wings were going in opposite directions, one having gone upwards at a strange angle and the other had drooped halfway along. The booms had split their seams at the rear. The poor Hellcat had a 40 degree twist in the rear fuselage! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it.

I can only assume it was because I had to park my car in a different spot today, with no shade, and having forgotten to open a window – it was a bit on the hot side when I got in, to the extent that I had to put the air-con on - never had this before though, even through the summer.

So there you go – yet another DNF, I suppose I could start another, but given that it’s halfway through the month, I’m revising for the next stage of my course, I’m getting my Son assessed for ADHD, AND I’ve started home educating my Daughter this month I might be trying to push it.

I’m happy to carry on as GBL though.

Cheers

Very sorry to hear it! A hard lesson learned - never leave model airplanes closed up in a car! Pets and small children yes,* but never models!

August

*Not really.
A good model is any model you can walk away from.

How frustrating, Stuart, they were such great choices of old kits and they were looking good.

Possibly sell it on T'bay as a Starfix kit? No one'll know the difference :-D

Bad luck though, terrible way to loose two in one go
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

That is so unlucky, the Venom was coming on so well.

Oh Stu, what appalling luck! Who'd have thought the British weather could get hot enough to warp plastic.

Actually, sunshine isn't too much of a problem here in Wales
