Sign-up and Chat
Re: Sign-up and Chat
Tonight I finished a very ordinary Mosquito, and I have a Sopwith Camel that was made for the Biggles film-that-never-was.
I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. But I had fun.
I'm not even sure if I can post the pictures as I don't use photobucket or similar.
And I'm not even sure if this question is in the right place!

Hi Tiff,
Post up your pics in the "Previously-built models" thread. If you have the image links, just put the image tags around them:
From memory you hosted the pics in the Biggles forum gallery, so you should be able to copy the hyperlinks from there. If still unsure, let me know and I'll have a crack.
Are you going to join us with a new Biggles build? Would be great if you do
You'll find everyone is very friendly and not at all liable to bite

Vickers Vandal, I have posted the pictures as links for the moment as the board says they are too big. I'll have a muck around with them and see what I can do.
I might have to fall back on a Spitfire.

I have that problem all the time on all forums. I think maximum dimension on here is 700 pixels or something like that. I keep mine below 600 now just to be safe.tiffinata wrote:Vickers Vandal, I have posted the pictures as links for the moment as the board says they are too big. Maximum here is 800 but for some reason when I post in that size it doesn't work so I post in 750 and all is ok old boy. What HoVickersVandal wrote:

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Yeah, that rings a bell now. I was sizing everything to 790 and it still wasn't working.
Hey Tiff, that Mozzie you posted up is great
I like the way you've overpainted the markings like that.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Gave the mozzie a coat of clear today, so it looks more finished.
Went to our local model shop with the list, to see if I could get something someone's not already doing.
Fell in love with the Beaufighter 1/48 scale. Might have to pop down to the Air Museum at Moorabbin to get the colours right.
Picked up a Sunderland at the same time.
School holidays sorted!

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I started the Beau as soon as I got home.
The Sunderland is an Italeri kit and I'm blown away (and slightly frightened) by its detail.
There are a couple of other aircraft mentioned in Biggles books- There's a Fairey Fulmar Ginger flew in Biggles in Borneo
Migs and Sabres are mentioned in Buries a Hatchet but not flown by Biggles and co.
So many aircraft, so little time. Sigh.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Will you make a build thread for any of these in the group build?

Not quite sure how to and what the right way to do it is.
But I'm guessing a good start is to set up a photobucket (or similar) account.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Or just host pics on the Biggles forum and link to them from here. Just take a look at the build threads people have set up to get an idea. Essentially it's just a way to show the concept you have, the stages of the build and the finished product and get lots of feedback and cheering along on the way

Great GB VV - Sorry that my participation has not been high - it's been a very busy month.
A great idea though, and some really nice builds!
Cheers

Re: Sign-up and Chat
This has been a most enjoyable GB and I would like to thank Vickers Vandal for suggesting and leading it, we had 5 completions which for such an unusual and involved theme isn't at all bad.
