Any idea what the purpose of the back-seater is supposed to be?

If this was a "fighter", then a rear gunner ala Brisfit, Defiant, etc - you Brits love those things

The book doesn't say, it merely states (through Algy) that "the Spur is a two-seater" so there is plenty of scope for modeller's licence.

I had a funny sort of day in the basement lab today. No major disasters but nothing really came out right either.

Spraying the undersides of the Spur gave a patchy cover, streaks, runs and other general unpleasantness.

So I sprayed the top in dark grey primer, and I must admit it came out quite nicely.

I'm almost tempted to leave it like this.

Andrew,

I love the Spur whiffery, but was sad and angered to read about the position you are in at work. I wish I could suggest a solution. Unfortunately, I ain't that smart.

I hope your son settles down back at school soon.

regards,

Martin

Thanks Martin. I am meeting the Union shop steward on Wednesday, so we will see what happens and what I can complain about.
Totally unimpressed with higher management for playing me off against my department. Then they sent an email around promoting a "healthy, happy workplace" with ideas for combatting stress.
(Do we have a grinding of teeth icon?).

David seems to have settled in now, but Graham is now feeling out of sorts because he moved into the Junior High class at the same school. It will all be alright eventually, he takes time to settle in.

cheers

I managed to print decals for the Spur, the Camel and the Pup this afternoon

Plus a coat of Vallejo Light Grey on the undersides.

I had to patch up the wing roots on the topsides and sand down the wingtops in places.

We have a Brother BCW-495 all in one. It's nearly ten years old now, and still going strong. For decals, the black and cyan inks are nice and intense but the red and yellow are a bit transparent. I mostly do plain black on clear paper.
