Looking good Splash, some of these old decals work better than new ones(italeri I'm talking to you). When I did the German Thunderstreak colour refs said silver grey for the undersides, I found a Revell pot that matched the RAL number.

Nice Hunter. The Wessex looks like it's poking it's bottom lip out

You will enjoy it, its a simple kit that builds well, the only downside is the lack of cockpit detail, but to be fare they did supply a pilot to fill the hole :-D

I have seen a lot of these kits going cheap at shows and on ebay, this surprises me as Hunter kits are generally hard to find, even the Revell version is starting to get expensive.

This is a good thing for me as I like the old classic kits, I sometimes think the new kits are just over engineered just for the sake of it.

That turned out great. I built one converted to a T7 a few years back but I have at least one more in the stash that is now calling.

I completely agree with you about liking old classic kits over newer ones but I attribute that to my age/nostalgia.

I understand that the Hunter was one of Frogs last kits, this could account for the quality of the moulding and the decals.

When you fit the Quickboost seat, check the height of the seat does not interfere with the canopy, I looked at fitting a resin seat and a seat out of the Revell Hunter after I had joined up the body, but found them too high, this could be an issue with the kits floor height or the canopy shape or size.

When I build my next one I might use the canopy as a plunge mould and make a thinner vac form type canopy.
