Blimey. That has gone together quickly. I got one for this build but went with the Heller 108 instead and that has gone pretty well but nothing like this has.

Re: Splash's Hunter
I a couple of years ago I built the Revell Hunter and thought that was a lovely kit but having now built this I'm surprised how nice a kit it is, the part fit is excellent and the fine raised panel lines take very little effort to remove giving the a/c that smooth look that suites the lines of the Hunter.TobyC wrote:Blimey. I think with very little extras possibly just a resin seat this would make into a very nice model.

Re: Splash's Hunter
Normally I just free hand my camouflage but as I wanted this quite sharp I'm having a go with white-tac and copydex

Re: Splash's Hunter
Frog say the underside should be silver but Paul's photos show them as light grey so I have gone for the light grey option.novokits wrote:Nice camo! The lower surface already silver?
I'm just waiting for a coat of clear to dry before I add the decals.

Re: Splash's Hunter
Very nice, I find a coat of gloss before masking for the 2nd colour stops the marks on the paint from the tack. If I remember I did mine silver underneath but then that's research for you.

Cheers I will remember that.shangos70 wrote:Very nice, I find a coat of gloss before masking for the 2nd colour stops the marks on the paint from the tack. If I remember I did mine silver underneath but then that's research for you.
I did find dabbing the marks with the ball of blue/white-tac lifted the marks off quite easily but I like your idea and will try that next time.
The issue with the Silver or Grey came up when I built my F104, the Dutch used Grey and the German's used Silver but the silver once weathered looks very grey, I wonder if mixing grey to silver might sort out the problem.

Re: Splash's Hunter
So far this has been an enjoyable experience building this kit, Frog have made it plain and simple and the decals have performed more like a modern set rather than the normal decals from kits of this age.
Not much left too do, just the cockpit and U/C
