I was surprised myself with the amount of work involved in building this up, and marvel at the skill in designing one of these kits.

I had fallen out of plastic modelling after my poor attempts at doing the last few GB's, so decided to try this. As the saying goes, "A change is as good as a rest" :-D, and with the official Paper model GB starting in November I decided to do this one to see how they go.

Not much done this weekend, but the engines have had a bit more work done to them:

Once these are added it is just a case of fitting the gun pods, exhausts, nose glazing and propellers and she will be done.

Having built it wheels up for ease of build I had to construct a stand to support it.

I am quite pleased with the way this went together and being my first paper model I have learnt quite a lot.

The main problems were getting curved things like the engines and exhausts to fit together neatly. Perhaps more patience is needed with card as it is not as forgiving as plastic (and more difficult to separate once glued).

Thanks to David (Lancfan) for rescuing this GB and allowing me to venture into paper modelling for it, it will certainly be a help for the next one.

That's quite remarkable. Tbh I was a bit sceptical when I read your build was going to be a paper model but I think you've done an excellent job.

Well done, that is a great. A bit heavy on the panel line wash for my tastes
All those curves came out super, would have put me off attempting as a first one, bravo.

Looks great! If that is your first paper model, I don't think you will have any problems in the GB and your next build will be well worth watching too...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

Well done. That is a challenging kit for a beginner to paper modeling but you did a great job with it.

I've always been a little dubious about paper models, but I must say that's rather good. Well done!
