Yes, perfectly in theme for the Colourful Build theme. It's going to be even brighter once I get the decals on!

And it now much brighter. I had time this afternoon to paint the underside of the upper wing and get the decals on too!

It just needs some Hamilton Standard Logos on the propeller now.

Really looking good now !!

With regard to rigging (this somewhat to August's remark above), I think the P-6E is much like the F11C-2. Only the rear wires cross and there is only a flying wire at the front, doubled. I'll ignore the 2-3 very short spreaders on that wire, then just lay a long spreader bar from where the rear wires cross forward onto the front wire & tack it in place.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Very colourful Andrew, it's looking great and should look fantastic with the rigging in place whichever way you decide to do it.

The P-6E is now rigged.
Image

I cheated by attaching all the rigging to the struts rather than the underside of the lower wing.

Image

Not strictly right, but makes for a much easier rigging experience!

Image

There are a few wires which I have omitted. I also forgot the telescope sight.

I need to study the radio mast placement. It looks like a tail mast to two masts on the upper wings.

A few bits, like the tyres need a touch of paint on too. Better not drop this one!

cheers

I found my decal sheet with extra Hamilton Standard logos on (another Starfighter sheet), so the decals got added to the prop. I also painted the tyres.

Image

It's not quite finished, but it's gone into the display cabinet.

Image

The in-laws are coming for Thanksgiving dinner, so I revamped my display cabinet a little, to show them what I've been doing.

Radio aerials, windscreen and gunsight remain to be added.

cheers

Looks very nice. I didn't know Thanksgiving was celebrated in Canada also.

Yes, but much more aligned with end of the harvest season, so it's a lot earlier in the year.
