More updates, the wingtip rails are on, one being re-glued in the images below. First coat of Humbrol 128 in on top and bottom, hopefully put some 127 on tomorrow (the 128 took ages to dry fully). Going to try the two grey colours applied to F-15C's to further the what-if. Will mainly put missiles on this as it is a single seater/fighter type version. Might see about a centreline tank for it as well. Don't think I'll need weight anywhere, the tail is on and she's still level!!.

It's looking good. It looks Draken like in the top shot. :)

Thanks chaps. I think you're right about the Draken impression!, they are essentially the same type of layout, a double delta style set-up!. Anyway, a little more done, Humbrol 128 is on the undersides now and some Humbrol 140 is on the top for the darker effect. As this is a bit of what-iffery, I've tried to adapt the F-15 colour scheme to the XL, not easy considering the difference in wing shape but I'm pleased with the outcome!. Main u/c doors to go on and a replacement pitot tube, then she should be good for canopy and decals...

Thanks chaps. Not sure the darker grey is as smooth as I would like, even after two coats and a third of thinned paint but hopefully some varnish may help at the end. Have done a little bit more, mainly the missiles..

Well, here she is, finished although in what I am calling 'temporary' markings, unless people think they look okay. Have ordered some from Twobobs but I doubt they will arrive in time to use before the end of the GB!. The tail codes are actually from a Lightning customising sheet, the star and bars from an F/A-18 and the rest from the XL kit marking sheet. Not sure if they are too low-vis!!. Added a small pitot tube made from wire as pics show one. Really enjoyed this and the French marked GB's, so much so that I have struggled to move along with other projects!!. Anyway...

Great looking variant of the F-16 and nicely done. I think those markings look just fine.
