Not a heck of a lot of visible progress this weekend but in fact, the project moved along nicely. The main color got sprayed and most of the detail parts are prepped and ready to add. Tamiya makes a nice can of spray paint and I was happy with the coverage after one coat. This should be finished before the weekend.

The radar pod is known as "The Long Dong". No idea what that means.

This received most of the small bits over the weekend. Decalling started, then quickly stopped as the first transfer broke up. Liquid decal film has been applied, and application will recommence tonight.

Final assembly has been pretty trouble-free although it was not worth the effort to preserve the sliding canopy feature as the canopies tend to bind up and some accuracy compromises have to be made to get them to work.

August,

Great looking build of a classic kit! I like the attention you gave the cockpits; it really lifts them.

Martin

A sun-dappled autumn day and a completed, straight-ahead big bad black beastie of a plane. Decals took a while to wrestle into submission but otherwise the finish was pretty smooth.
