Re: OT builds a KP classic

Made some progress this weekend. I started by painting & masking off the dialitic (?) panels, the dark green ones.

Then I painted the underside Tamiya XF-23 light blue. Not sure its the correct blue but looks good to me.

Image

It looks very pale in this shot but it is bluer - is that a real word?
Next up a coat of XF-62 Olive Drab before marking out the camo pattern with UHU white tack. A bit of an experiment this!

Image

At this point I hit a snag and ran out of Tamiya thinner. I know I should of checked.
The next colour was a bit of a mystery too as the Eduard instructions I was using only state dark green! So I went with Xtracrylix XA1204 Schwarzgrun RLM 70. Looks German to me. Anyway after two coats of that it was time for the reveal:

Pretty pleased with that. Will use white tak again. :-D

I hope to get some touching up done before bed time.

Still lots of flash to clean up off the small parts.

Look at that wheel?
More to follow soon.

:ha: :ha: :ha: :ha: Sorry, it's the drugs talking - I am full of cold & my brain is mush.

I started the decaling:

And finished it:

Next up a dull coat before fitting the fiddly bits & rocket pods. A little weathering & reveal the canopy. I am not overly confident about that.
Might get this done tonight. 8-)

It's coming up a treat OT. I agree about the green, it does look German. Sounds German too :-D

I think you're doing a very good job and it. Arguably more than it has a right to ;-)

I am calling this one done. I will add some more rocket pods when I get my hands on some. Glamour shots tomorrow in daylight.

Not yet Marky but don't worry. They will turn up or not. I have the Dragon set on the way from Korea.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I feel another Mig build coming along very soon - just not the KP kit.
