Albatros! Its Albatros Flavoured!

Post by fredk »

In lieu of an IL-10 I shall attempt to build one of KP's finest kits. The Aero L39 Albatros.

The decals and instruction sheet are filed away. I'll look for them later.
The canopy is attached to the in-flight stand sprue and looks ok, A dip in Klear/Future will bring it up nicely.
I have some Aeroclub white metal seats for this, which help add weight to the nose to prevent tail-sitting.

Should go together as fast as Hobby Boss kit,
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Very nice choice - the L-39 is a very pretty little Aircraft.

Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Fred, 'twas the gannet that was on a stick. The Albatross was sold free of accoutrements ;-)

Don't you oppress me, mate!

[just joking]

Started on the kit, lots of flash to scrape off. I thought KP had done a PM, with u/c doors moulded closed, but looking at pictures of the real L39 the front u/c door and the larger of the main ones are closed whilst the aeroplane is on the ground and seem to open only when the u/c is retracting or extending. The thin doors for the main u/c legs appear to be open though, so I'll have to cut them out.
