number 2; the Albatros

Got a bit done on this today.
Cut out one of the u/c doors in each wing;
Image

More fiddling about and got the cockpit tub and lead weight into the nose area, then got it all closed up;
Image

Just a bit of flash on some parts;
Image

Tailplanes cleaned up and added, and fillers along the fuselage seam;

The two halves of the wing are glued together and filler applied to the rear edge joint. Once that sets it'll be wing on and more fillers then a good rubdown with w&d paper.

Well it is a KP kit Fred! ;-)

It doesn't look too bad does it? It's certainly the right shape, which is always a bonus 8-)

One of KPs better kits perhaps?

Fillers rubbed down, main wings attached, as are u/c legs and doors, and first paint applied. Where the orange is will be yellow. I use orange as an undercoat for yellow and red.

On the left; the kit seats, on the right, the Aeroclub ones. But I had to file away quite a bit of them to get them down to size to fit.

Nice work Fred. That's some imoressive progress and those seats look like they'll spiffy up the cockpit a treat 8-)

You are making good progress here Fred. I do like the lines of the L39.

I will have to dig mine out of the stash.

Even with the time extension I'm not going to get this done in time.
I used a Revell grey as primer/undercoat for the colour coats. The Humbrol paint for the colour coats has reacted with the Revell, causing the Humbrol to dry thick and ridgy in parts. Very odd as the blue I used underneath was acrylic and the green on the top was enamel. Doubly odd as I had used that grey as a primer on a few hundred figures and the top paints went on ok.
I'll have to strip all the paint off and start on it again.

Damn shame about the paint Fred but, as I'm sure you know, these things happen to the best of us. :sad: It's been great having you aboard for the GB and I'll look out for the Albatross elsewhere on the forum. :)

I got stuck in this morning and rubbed back the worst of the paint with T-Cut;
