Dais' Four Sulky Griffons.

Post by DH-Drover »

I have the AMT kit with some horrible decals. I would have preferred to build the South African version but The decals from Lancfan (taa mutchley) Only have RAF markings. Also Some of the propeller blades are broken/short shot. So I will build a flying pose.
Photos shortly.

Look forward to another maker!, I had the same problem with my Modelcraft Shack blades, I replaced all three on one prop and one each on two others as they were either short, wrong shape or deformed (oddly shaped!).
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Not much done so far but Margaret will be away for two days so will catch up. Unfortunately on Saturday I will have to go to Cootamundra to recover her.

While in town waiting for The coach to take Margaret to Cootamundra I dropped into the newsagent and found Aviation Classics "Bookzine"
Avro Shackleton "The Grey Lady".

Now all I need is the Humbrol number for the grey.

The correct colour for Extra Dark Sea Grey is H123 but it looks too dark in this scale and would look better if mixed with a lighter shade, say H106 to resemble photographs of the full-size.

I used Acrylic Humbrol 27 Sea Grey for the wing topsides on mine; no idea if that's correct but it looks ok to me!
Best wishes

I'll be giving it a go David. The fuselage is buttoned up and the tail unit is ready to go on. I have a rather full week coming up but should be finished by Sunday.
