Coventry Show - June 21st 2015 - "Midland Air Museum Show"

Post by IronMan129 »

Following on from the success of the 2015 Shropshire Model Show at RAF Cosford we have been invited on the 21st June to the Midland Air Museum Show at Coventry Airport Hosted by Coventry & Warwickshire IPMS.

Here is the address:
The Midland Air Museum
Coventry Airport
Baginton
Warwickshire
CV3 4FR

With it being such short notice I have taken it upon myself to make the decision of having no themes to build numbers.

It would be great to see a few faces there so please feel free to come and say hi.

Can't commit at present Adam but I would love to be there. Just got to sort out work commitments first.

I would like to do this show as I haven't been in a long time. Will have to see how the work situation pans out.
Chris.

Put me down, I'll bring the same stuff I took to Cosford ;-)

I'm on holiday in Wales from 19th to 26th Adam so won't be able to make it I'm afraid. It is a shame because that is a good show and the museum is great (and it is next door to the Electric train museum which I haven't been to yet but must do at some point).

Cheers
Al.

I'll be there. No work that day, no studies and Mrs D will be at work herself.

I'll bring the same as I brought to Cosford plus a few others :)

Looking like I will make the show after all due to the company I worked for making all of us redundant on Friday, long story and a complete balls up.

I start work for an agency on Tuesday and will be working on my terms for the time being, so no more Sunday working.

I will be up at the North show this coming weekend, so going to try getting back onto the show circuit.
Chris.

I can feel the pain regarding the redundancy, lost my job two months ago. Thankfully I've found another one (currently in Birmingham on a training course) but it really is a complete nightmare these days.

Sadly I won't be able to make the 21st as it's my first Sunday patrol beat but I'm sure I'll be at some of the shows again soon.

Cheers guys.

Today I signed the agency paperwork.

I already knew the agency owner through his past dealings with my former company (he provided additional drivers when we were busy).

Got my first run out tomorrow and I no longer work weekends, for the time being at least.
Chris.

As we are currently without a leader, what's the current situation regarding this show? Will we be exhibiting at all now? Do we need exhibitors passes to get in ?

It's quite a long journey to make on uncertainties.

Can't make this as I've been selected to play bowls in a cup competition.

Cheers Daz. All our matches have been close so far, and we probably didn't expect to get this far, but hey, we'll be giving it a go

From reading Adam's initial post on this show Darryl, the SIG was invited to attend and therefore I would presume that the table(s) will be ready and waiting. Usual practice is for show organisers to send out armbands or some other type of pass in advance to allow exhibitors to enter before the doors open to set up. Adam may have already received such but I don't know. Without exhibitors passes I reckon there are two options for attendees (a) turn up early and try to sweet talk the organisers (i.e. grovel  ) or (b) turn up with the rest of the punters and quickly set the table up. Alternatively it might be a case of contacting the organisers to say soz but the SIG can't make it otherwise they might get the dog on and be wary of making any future invites to the SIG.
