Just turn up early and ask where the Cold War SIG tables are ;-)
I haven't been for a couple of years but I can't recall armbands :ha:

It's quite a long journey to make on uncertainties.
From reading Adam's initial post on this show Darryl, the SIG was invited to attend and therefore I would presume that the table(s) will be ready and waiting. Usual practice is for show organisers to send out armbands or some other type of pass in advance to allow exhibitors to enter before the doors open to set up. Adam may have already received such but I don't know. Without exhibitors passes I reckon there are two options for attendees (a) turn up early and try to sweet talk the organisers (i.e. grovel  ) or (b) turn up with the rest of the punters and quickly set the table up. Alternatively it might be a case of contacting the organisers to say soz but the SIG can't make it otherwise they might get the dog on and be wary of making any future invites to the SIG.

Thanks Shaun

I think I'll have to go for the "get there early option". It does mean a 5am start but that was pretty much my plan anyway. Will you be attending mate?

From what I remember, setup usually starts about 8 - 8.30am.

I will be there early with some models for the stand, just not decided what to bring yet.

Hey all!
Sorry I've not been watching our forum lately, as some of you may have read I was in hospital and was discharged this morning but due to the huge amount of pain I am still in I won't be able to attend this weekend's show as I can't drive and I don't think I could cope with a day out this soon after discharge.

With regards to the SIG Leader role, until someone else takes the role I am still the leader and will try my hardest to do what I can for the SIG.

And also I haven't received any mail from the show organisers so I can only assume you should just turn up and tell them what SIG your with and they'll let you in.

Sorry to hear of your health woes Adam and I hope you get well soon. Alas, I can't see that I will be able to make this show as I've got some commitments on over the weekend unfortunately. Sounds like it will be a good one though.

Take it there is no point in me taking any models for the SIG stand then?

Mine are packed and ready to go Chris. However, if we're not going to display at the show I might give it a miss. Its a 3 hour drive each way for me and I'm just finishing a run of 12 hour shifts. In fact I'm in work right now. To get to the show means starting at a very silly time in the morning.

Should we take a cloth for the table and give it a go?

Mine are packed and ready to go Chris. We might need a tablecloth.
I have no cloth for the stand but can provide plenty of models.

The cloths that I had were passed on with the rest of the SIG gear when I retired as leader.

I'll find a cloth even if it means pinching Mrs Dazzled's best table cloth ;-)

I'll be back online later. Aeroplane to rebuild. ;-)

Home now. Time for a quick meal, then I'll find a cloth. I've got some tiger tape from work so we'll have something colourful to go round the edge of the table. :)

Models packed and ready to go in the car.

Plenty to go on the tables including my B-52C and TU-16 Badger, several Mig 15's and Mig 21's as well as F-16's to name but a few.

I should be there from around 8 - 8.30am.
Chris.

A good day was had at today's show.

Despite there only being the two of us (Darryl and myself), we not only managed to put on a full display we both also walked away with certificates for models on display.
