Re: Andrew's F4U-4 "Lancer 2"
I've tried a green wash. We'll see how it looks when it is dry. I think more gloss varnish may be needed.

Main doors on.
The wash has dulled things down too much. More gloss varnish will be needed.
I forgot to make the rear bay doors!
These are now cut out and await primer.
Next task, fit the canopy.

Canopy is not the greatest fit.
The glossiness is restored though. The tail doors are all primed too. Close to finishing.

I'll try to finish this after Christmas. My build schedule has been disrupted by exam marking and now a heavy head cold.
Happy Christmas everyone!

Re: Andrew's F4U-4 "Lancer 2"
I decided to handpaint the tail doors, as they are not very visible.
I took the masking off the canopy of the Corsair. One of my better efforts, although one of the vertical frames is in need of a retouch.
The canopy has been stuck on, and PVA glue used to fill the gaps between canopy and canopy frame. It wasn't a bad fit really.
Ready for painting those tail doors now!
cheers
Andrew

And the doors are painted.
I've also retouched the canopy framing. It just needs a bit of toothpick work to remove a couple of stray bits from the canopy.

Nice finish Andrew. One of the few Matchbox kits I don't think I ever built.
