Daz's racing Spitfire **FINISHED**

Post by DazDaMan »

I'll be doing this...

...with one of these

I originally started a build of the Revell Spitfire XVI with this same paint scheme, but it's kind of stalled for one reason or another. I was also hesitant about putting this one into the GB as I wasn't sure if the scheme was actually natural metal or genuinely silver. A bit of internet digging revealed it WAS silver to go with those red cheat lines. So not only is it bright, but it should cheer folks up a bit to see a silver Spit being bodged on my desk for a change! :ha:

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Apologies for the lack of updates on this one!

I've been moving slowly forward with it, however, and the model is now starting to look like a Spit!

I'll try to fire up my progress pics tomorrow.

We should all be pretty familiar with the old Matchbox Spitty by now!

Spitty's current status:

I'm going to try masking for the first time to get those red stripes on. Should be interesting...!

A couple of wee bits to finish for the painting and building, then it's on to the decals...!

A little more work. The black cheat line is a bit wonky, but an easy fix!
