That looks an excellent bit of weathering.

Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
Thanks Mike and Toby.
If you want to simulate wet mud then after hair drying touch up those places with a brush dipped into klear, it works really well.

Mark
I used a flat brush which I soaked in pigment fixer and completely wetted the side plates. I then used an old stiff round brush and dipped in into the dark pigment and dropped it haphazardly around the surface. I did this for each pigment until I was happy with the coverage.( If you wanted a lumpy texture add some Polyfiller to the mix) Then I flooded the area with more fixer being careful not to touch the pigment with the brush and then dried it all with a hair dryer on a low setting.Migrant wrote: How did you apply the pigments to the side plates?

Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
Another little update
All the sticky out bits that can be painted with the base coat have been stuck on and then the tracks were masked off and dark yellow sprayed onto the model.
I'm going to spray the dark green on sometime tonight and this will be done entirely freehand so it's not going to be a long session as I won't need to use any masking...oh the confidence

Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
Well that's the camo finished and I'm pretty pleased with the result, it's an easy enough camo to spray freehand as it is a free flowing pattern.
I think that I will chuck a couple of filters on it and then seal it all in with some klear.
Decals after that and then a wash.

Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
nice job on the tracks
Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
Doesn't look like you needed to be worried at all about freehand, that looks smart!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
Great progress Mark. I couldn't freehand camo that tightly on a 1:1 tank.

Some fantastic work going on there Mark. Tracks have always been a problem area for me with Armour so thanks for the excellent tutorial, I have bookmarked it for future reference.

Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
Thanks all, I was thinking a while back to upgrade my spray set but as I don't enter compy's and such I couldn't really justify spending a large amount on such equipment when I can get these sort of results for £68.00.
I've started to decal the turret but won't add too many as I want to make sure I have enough for the hull as well, though if there are any left after the hull then I can always add more to the turret.
The engineering on this kit is a bit over the top in places but I have to say the build has been very enjoyable so far.

There are plenty of octopus "pads", don't worry ...

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Re: Titan's Octopus Tiger
You are right of course John there were plenty of 'pads' which was good as I did fold over a few of them, I think that I may of had the water a tad to hot when I dunked them, still the surplus didn't go to waste.
I have given the whole model another coat of Klear to seal those decals in and will have to wait now for it to cure before I start giving it a wash.
Doubtful as it is I may start on the tools and figures today if I can get some time...
