Lancfan's pair of Renault ***FINISHED***
This will be my next Tank build, one of the FT-17 kits from each of these boxes will be built, one converted into the command Tank version.
These kits could not be simpler, the hulls consist of just two parts. The RH tank is OOB and the LH one has had the poorer details cut away to be replaced with scratch built replacements.

Re: Lancfan's pair of Renault.
With my WW2 AFVs finished I can get back to these two. I am now adding the details to both hulls, pictures TF.

Re: Lancfan's pair of Renault.
The new details were added to the rear decking of both tanks, this is the gun tank to which the turret has also been fitted.
The cupola now needed to be scratch built for the Command tank, this is based on a balsawood core which has been skinned in thin plastic card. The picture imediately below shows the core dry fitted on to the hull and below that is the finished unit glued in place.
The next job was to scratch build new tails for both tanks, the tracks/suspension units can now be cleaned up prior to painting the models.

Both tanks are now camouflaged, the tracks will be cleaned up and painted next followed by some weathering and then final assembly to complete the build.

Nice work David.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Those have turned out very nicely David and make a change to the more commonly built British WW I fare.

Nice one David, those easy build kits would be ideal for someone to cut their "scratch building" teeth on.
