Tim's Jagdpanzer IV L/70 ** Finished **

Post by TimJ »

This has been sitting in the stash for a few years so I thought I'd get it out for this GB.

This looks fearsome. I'd hate to be the Sherman that crosses HIS path

Hey Tim. Looks good. Love the base. I am thinking Matchbox? Will be checking in with this one. David just answered my question.

Nice choice. At least your tracks are in one piece unlike my Revell mk111

Jeff, all 1/76 scale Revell armour kits are from ex. Matchbox tools, their 1/72 kits are from Revell's own moulds.

I've made a start and after an hour or two I had this.

Looking at the length of the gun I presume this was unsuitable for built up areas.

I've got a few wheels to paint next, good job there are only 48 of them.

I built this kit a few years back and found it rather enjoyable especially when it was placed on the little dio that it came with.

This is a repop of the old Matchbox kit and thank you Revell for saving it. I'm sure I've got one in an MB box but can't seem to find it in the stash  The length of the gun did cause problems and IIRC the vehicles had solid cast wheels at the front as the weight overloaded the standard wheels. There was an L/48 version which, although not packing such a punch, was less of a handfull for the crews.

Having been laid low with the dreaded lurgy before Christmas I've just got my mojo back and got some more done. The wheels have been fitted and some painting has been done.

Image

I've also made a start on painting the base.

More progress over the past couple of days. Yesterday the tracks were fitted and the upper and lower hull sections stuck together.

Image

Since then the additional armour has been added and the camouflage painted.

Image

The base has had some more attention too.

Image

Not much left to do now so I should have it finished tonight.

Thanks.

As so often happens with me a month long GB turns into an impromptu Blitzbau. Ai least I managed to get this one finished in time. :)

A nice kit which went together without any problems.
