iggie's Late Arrival ***FINISHED***

Post by iggie »

Hopefully better late than never.....my entry in this GB!
I was going to build something in 1/32 with a tonne of parts & PE, but work, life and a certain bloomin' Shackleton conspired against me, so herewith my revised entry:
Armourfast Panzer IV G in 1/72

The box/Sprue shot (Try not to laugh at the scarcity of parts please  )

An hours work:

And now after a full coat of paint:

I'm going to add some scratch built tools, towing cable, hand grabs etc over the next few sessions....
Best wishes

That was quick did I blink?

I like the ideas of fixed tracks it must make for a simpler build.

Certainly simpler, as long as you are prepared to accept the inevitable inaccuracies....which I am! :-D

They may be simple wargaming models and some early ones do not have a floor but they do scrub up very well and you get two kits in the box.

I rather like their products. A quick modelling fix if other things in your life conspire against something more complex.

Nice work so far. They look like just the thing if you're suffering a bit of modeller's block.

Excellent blitz fodder indeed! I have already done a T34, and that took about 8 hours of work all in including weathering

Cheers Mark, no I haven't finished it yet!!! Still too much work and not enough bench time  But I did manage to add some grills to the engine intakes last night and faffed around with some rust washes

And Yes Tim, they are perfect for restoring a little faith and enthusiasm; they cost (relative) peanuts so it doesn't hurt if you make a hash of them (hard to do admittedly) but have enough detail to make a nice finished subject
Best wishes

And a little more progress:
Grills cut from PE generic sheet (not prototypical but they look good :-D ) and scratch built barrel rods and swabber; not overly happy with the holding brackets but they'll have to do now.
Oh and some spare tracks donated from a stalled Revell Tiger, cut down to match the width of the kit
