AMT Ghostbusters Ecto-1A 1/25.

With the in-laws and family all visited on Monday, that has given me all day to get busy without any interruptions.

So having managed to have a good look at the model, I have now got a plan of action.
First things, the model itself. Very little amount of flash, ejector pin holes all in hidden parts and the small detail is sharp. Very impressed with this.
No engine (could be a good thing), but everything under the chassis is moulded on.
Test fitting of a few parts has been good.
All the front lights have got to be painted, no clear lenses supplied.

Anyhow, made a start.

First things first, get rid of the chroming.

Image

Good old Mr Muscle Oven cleaner.

Image

Metal rod axles are supplied but the holes for them to sit in are a bit on the large side.

Image

So glued in some plastic tube which the axles fit in snugly.

Image

The details in the back of the tub are very fine and what are supposed to be cables are solid bits of plastic.

Image

So sand down the details and remove the solid cabling.

Image

I can see this is going to be an exercise in creating detail, making decals and good painting rather than assembly.

Thanks

AMT Ghostbusters Ecto-1A 1/25.

Have decided to glue on the rear side wings onto the body before painting.

Image

So the body, chassis, inner tub, bumpers and dashboard are all now cleaned up for priming.

Image

Image

Last thing done, first primer on parts already cleaned up.

That will do me for tonight.

Thanks
