Indeed and to buy one these days will cost a lot of money. Better off with a 1/24 scale methinksDazDaMan wrote:One of the lesser-known Bond cars, I reckon.

"Product Placement Is Not Enough" wasn't one of the better Bond films. 007 in a BMW? Who were they trying to kid?
The kit looks good though!

Re: Bond's Beemer
Progress has been slow so far but there has been some.
The underside has been painted and the suspension added. There is no engine, all you get is what's moulded into the underside, which is very well done and looks good when painted. I still need to paint and fit the exhaust.
The instructions tell you to attach the rear lower body panel near the end but a trial fit showed that it was wider than the bodyshell so I stuck it on and sanded it down until it fitted properly.
After checking that the body will still fit onto the chassis with the lower panel in place it was time for some primer.
I've got a can of BMW Titanium Silver from Halfords so I can carry on painting the body. It may have to wait until next weekend though as spraying in the dark isn't ideal. At least I've got the wheels and interior to get on with in the meantime.

Re: Bond's Beemer
Just mask up the entire kitchen; no one will ever know
Best wishes

Re: Bond's Beemer
The weather was dry and sunny today so I was able to get some paint on the bodyshell.
After painting it I noticed a couple of mould lines I'd missed by the headlights, so I'll have to sand them down and repaint that area.

Re: Bond's Beemer
I gave the mould lines on the nose a rub down this morning. I decided it would be better to respray the entire front panel so after masking off the rest of the body I sprayed a couple of coats of primer.
A couple of coats of Titanium Silver later I removed the masking. It looks better than it did yesterday.

Very good, although I was hoping to see the whole kitchen masked off

Re: Bond's Beemer
A bit more progress on the Bee Em.
After giving the body a few coats of Klear I've started applying the decals. I was a little disappointed to find that the indicators and taillights are decals but they don't look too bad.
The silver area on the dashboard has been painted and the instrument decals applied.
