It's a really nice kit - for an average modeller (like me), it looks great. An expert modeller could improve upon it no end.

It's a shame they're as rare as hen's teeth to get hold of, especially the "Civilschmitt" version!

Three(!) Buchons on the board:

The camouflage will need a little tidy up once it's been applied, but nothing major with any luck. I haven't used any paint guides from the Buchon kits, but rather using magazine articles on the preserved Buchon itself. It's like Buchon pornography!

Sit-rep:

The Buchon is up on its landing gear. All small parts have been fitted.

The only thing left to actually attach to the airframe is the prop and the canopy, plus permanently glue the landing gear into the wings. Then it's on to the decals.

I had a minor issue with the exhaust stubs, in that I lost one set! They pinged out of my fingers and went to feed the carpet monster!

The only thing to do was find some spares. As I have a couple more Buchons in the stash, I COULD have lifted them from one of these, but I would still have been left with the problem of sourcing some extras. What to do? Well, the kit comes with a set of extra exhausts, presumably for a DB-engined '109. However, they don't fit the slot in the fuselage! :???: The only thing left was to trim them down and MAKE them fit. Which I managed.

Just.

Kinda.

Pics later!

And there you have it.

The kit didn't come with any German decals (being the original Hobbycraft boxing, which comes with Spanish markings only), so these are after-market jobs and originally meant for a Bf109F. Hence why the 0s are the wrong shape! I didn't realise this until I was putting them on, but I rather like them anyway.

The sharp-eyed among you will notice that this particular Buchon only has ten exhaust stubs as well! Still, those minor niggles aside, I do love those Buchon kits.

Thanks, folks.

Like I say, if I have time (still got a Hurricane to do for this GB, and the Heinkel for the medium bomber GB), I'll try to throw in the Civilschmitt version as well.

Very good work.

Without the two off pictures to me an '0' is an '0'.
