I've been dithering around deciding what to build and even if I should take part.
I'm going to attempt to get this Bentley completed before the 31st.
W.O. Bentleys featured in a number of films and TV shows. I've decided to do this one as one driven by John Steed in the original TV 'Avengers' series.
According to IMCDb website, several versions of Bentley were used. One was a standard 4.5L model.
An easy conversion, leave off the blower, leave off any racing fittings, put on road parts, fill hole in bonnet/hood.
I don't usually put people into my cars, but I may make an exception on this one. I have some people who I may be able to make into John Steed and Mrs Peel

Re: A Spy's Bentley
The front of the left side of the car is short moulded so it'll get repaired at the same time and in the same way as the breather hole; both have been backed with plastic card, after this photo I put a dollop of plastic soup on each. When thats hard I can carve it down and make good with fine fillers.
I thought I could do some pre-assembly of other parts and add the body to them but thats not the way of this kit. The body is built first and everything is attached to it.

Nice choice. How come when I saw "the original TV 'Avengers' series" the first image that came to mind was of Emma Peel in one of her leather outfits.
Looking forward to seeing how you use your 'soup' concoction.

Re: A Spy's Bentley
The Man has said 'no extensions' to the time, so I'm trying hard to blitz this one.
After the plastic card was added, [see above] plastic soup was dolloped on to it. This melds the repair into the kit plastic.
This was shaved down then fine fillers put on and sanded down, then even finer surface fillers put on - here awaiting final rub down;
I'm reasonably confident that it will be a good surface not showing the filling, when its painted.
Some other bits done
Clockwise from top left; the blower compressor has been sawn off and the chassis blanked off, the kit's fuel tank cover piece is weird, it stops short, so plastic card has been added, the solid plastic 'windscreen' has been sawn off the support, a clear plastic sheet will be made into a windscreen, a small block of plastic has been added to the bottom of the radiator - thats where there was a gap for the fuel/air mix pipes from the compressor to the engine run.
The build rages on. The main body is built now. Some painting of odd parts done.
Must go back to it now, those painted parts must be dry now.

The body as it was a short time ago; since this photo I've started painting it, using the new Humbrol BRG. The enamel is not good paint, coloured varnish.

Re: A Spy's Bentley
Didn't get finished in time. Although the paint dried fast, it didn't harden off enough for handling. I'll have to finish this off and put it in my other thread.
I have to micromesh the paint, it full of little bits of dust, then second coat it.
