Re: Toby's Special Hobby Beaufort
Well here are the sprue shots along with the decals and Montex masks for it.
I'll be using this build as a reference http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/inde ... rt-mkviii/ but I don't I have the skill to able to replicate what has been done here. It requires some butchery and fettling so it ain't going to be a quickie as they say

I was hoping for a Coastal Command version when I saw the thread title but the Aussie version is just as great.

Nice choice, Toby - I think I have this one lurking in my stash, so it'll be interesting to see how it builds up.

Re: Toby's Special Hobby Beaufort
As expected having viewed the other build the fuselage is too narrow thus making the canopy stand out so I've added .1mm strip to hopefully sort this problem. Also there are no locating lugs which makes things even trickier.

Re: Toby's Special Hobby Beaufort
Butchery is required to fit rear turret nacelle
The canopy is now a flush fit with the extra width added
I'm beginning to get a bad feeling about this kit as the instructions are very vague and holes need to be drilled in the clear perspex to ft the machine guns. I think this won't end well

Re: Toby's Special Hobby Beaufort
Slow and steady is the best way I've found to deal with Special Hobby kits. When I did my Beaufort I found that the kit actually fitted very well, despite the lack of locating pins and butt joins for the wings.
