You've done a great job bring this model to this stage. Have enjoyed reading through the thread and found it informative. Looking forward to a successful finish.

More work on the rear turret. Added some plasticard to hide the gap behind it and also sanding down it's housing.

Although not in the not so special instructions is it indicated to cut a recess in the top of the fuselage to accommodate the turret. Fortunately plans elsewhere show that this is needed.

I've cut out with the wing tips for the navigation lights. This was fairly easy as the plastic is very conducive to carving.

I'm using Glue n Glaze to slowly build up the lights in stages. When hard I'll sand them down to the right shape.....I hope

After a series of mishaps today culminating in me snapping the port wing whilst trying to cut out some navigation lights on the leading edge I had a huge hissy fit and binned the whole thing. It was imgo far too fiddly and my patience just went and I had had enough of it. I feel strangely relieved tbh.

It is a hobby that is meant to be fun. Sometimes a kit just doesn't work out. No shame in binning a kit, I've done it, most of us have. No point struggling with a kit if its not giving one any fun in the building of it.
Find another kit [not necessarily one for this GB] and set too, when you've got your head sorted and you are ready.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Sorry to hear that, Toby, as you'd put a lot of work in on that one.

I must say at one stage last night I was going to throw everything in the bin but realised it was nowhere near big enough to accommodate my stash
Anyway sanity has now prevailed and I don't like to leave a GB unfinished so I've gone for the Ventura PV-1

That's bad luck after all the work you had put in. It's good that you are staying in the GB, still plenty of time to get a model finished.

Pity after all that great work but this is supposed to be fun. No point carrying on if it's just aggravation.

If you look carefully you can still see a bit of dried baked bean and a tea bag stain on it!

Could this make it over the finishing line after all? :-D
Best wishes
