Although the detail is superb the fit of the model is a disaster as the formers have not been properly sized to fit the fuselage sides and the wheelbays are too deep for the wing halves. The undercarriage is far too weak and needs very careful assembly (be prepared for repairs as you go) and when assembling the model amost everything will need dry fitting. In my opinion these Roden Heinkel III kits need fully retooling.

Very smart. That nose is going to take some masking though.

Not really Chip as I will paint this by brush with acrylics, any overlaps will be tidied up with a cocktail stick afterwards.

Just when I thought that I had won the kit had other ideas- the fuselage decals broke up into small pieces when wetted. I only want to build the one Condor Legion He III and that is 25+15 "Pedro" and the very decals I cannot replace are scrap, after all the work this nasty little kit has made me do I will now give in as I would need another kit to complete it. I will buy another to build at a later date but this will be used as conversion parts with a Revell/Frog or Airfix kit and the next set of decals will be varnished over before use.

What decals do you need?
I have to print the black code letters for my Dornier and I could add some extra to the printing.

That is kind of you Fred but if that were the only issue I could sort that myself, the fuselage and fin markings include very fine artwork that is beyond my painting ability.

That's a shame after all the hard work you put into it. I know how you feel in a way but you got a lot further than I did with the Beaufort.

I suppose that if any aeroplane would do I could use the other identity (after varnishing the decals first) but 'Pedro' is the only one I want to build and the kit was bought specifically to build that aircraft.

Very sorry to hear about this setback! That's a real shame after the huge effort you've put into it.

At least you've demonstrated that it can be tamed, and how to do so. It actually doesn't seem as horiffic after seeing what you've done. I'm even starting to consider getting the Chinese Nationalist version for my RoCF collection.....

If you do build yours VV, strengthen the decals on the sheet with a coat of Humbrol rattle can acrylic varnish or whatever you normally use to do so.
