What is the artwork? If we can get a decent image I can print it too. I use a DTP program for my artwork thus I can scan and re-size. eg I copied a 1/72 B17 nose art and printed it off for a 1/300 kit, the writing was still legible.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Is there any chance you could just turn it into a German version?
I know it's not the same, but I don't think I've seen too many Heinkels in German markings with a stepped cockpit!

One of these is on my wants list at some point but the aircraft in your picture is the wrong version, the engines are wrong and there are other changes. And the model doesn't need any more paint on it now! I am going to leave the He III alone as a subject until the new Airfix kit is released and plan conversions based on that or another kit.DazDaMan wrote:Is there any chance you could just turn it into a German version?

Tough luck with the decals David; is a real shame that after all your efforts to overcome the poor kit the decals let you down as well
Best wishes
Jim

Thr Curse of Roden Decals strikes again........ They really are a mixed bag - I've had some that behave impeccably, while other shatter on contact with water.
Bad luck, David, but the model itself looks great. Keep it on the Shelf of Doom - and try e-mailing Roden.

It's not going anywhere soon Paul and when I do get another Roden kit it may live again.

Thanks fred, I knocked the plastic into submission but was beaten in the end by rubbish decals.

Argh I'm gutted that you've had decal failure David, especially after all the plastic wrestling you've had to do throughout the build.

As has already been said, it's a shame after your supreme efforts. Look forward to seeing it on your WB if you can't source decals

Chuck, this doesn't show enough information to work from and it is still not the aeroplane (Pedro) that I want to build.

Are the decals completely ruined as in they all broke up when soaking them? If you stopped after the first few broke apart, you might be able to save the rest by applying a few coats of decal liquid decal film. I had to do that with my New Mexico ANG F-100C decals from Superscale. It worked and might be a way out.

The key decals broke up in the water chuck, it's game over I'm afraid until I pick up another kit later.
