Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

This is looking really well done and it's such an unusual and good-looking plane.

Re: Karl's Polish Elk
Rather later than I intended, but finally got the time today to take some pictures:
(I finished around 1am last night)
Finished later than expected because I decided to tweak a few things before finishing off:
The defensive guns seemed the right length, but thanks to that aforementioned misaligned mould, they were VERY chunky - by the looks of them I think they've spent a few months stuffing themselves with pies and cakes
Though it did make it easier to drill out the fronts of the barrels a bit.
The U/C legs seemed to have been on the same pie and cake diet, which meant the supporting struts either side were far too thick, so I cut the heads off a few sequin pins, and used those instead - painted black to match the upper sections of U/C they went nicely.
Oh and I hollowed the fronts of the under-nacelle intakes a bit while I was in the detailing mood - a bit of black paint in there gives them some depth.
Final touches were a thin panel-line wash, and the antenna wires went on about 12:45am - I used knitting in elastic, because it doesn't droop with time if you put a little pre-tension on it, and coloured it black with a 'sharpie' pen.
I might do some weathering at a later stage. Lately I've taken a liking to the 'factory-fresh' look - to my eye they just look 'nicer' on the shelf - though that might be just a fad, time will tell.....
Oh and after a kit which has needed nearly every single part to be 'fettled' before fitting, next I'm going for something more modern, from a mainstream manufacturer, and in a bigger scale.

Cracking job Karl, great result from an un-promising start!
Best wishes

I've never heard of machine-blunderbusses before, carlos wrote: The defensive guns seemed the right length, but thanks to that aforementioned misaligned mould, they were VERY chunky - by the looks of them I think they've spent a few months stuffing themselves with pies and cakes

In that overall view it resembles the Hampton quite a bit.
Well done, a real cracker from a porridge of parts.
Now go do a Hobby Boss fighter to relax.

Nicely done, Karl. Great finish from an unpromising kit.
