2015 Display List of Models and Builders
To start us off (and get us building!), here is a list of the Airfix range of railway subjects which I suspect will contain the core of the models for the display, but certainly not the entirety.
I will add more models and their nominated builders as they are proposed/volunteered. For the purposes of the display, some duplicates will be required e.g. Platform sections, so for now, it is the more the merrier.
If you have locos to build or already built, please let me know what name/livery they have been finished in. For now I don't see a problem with duplicate loco types if they have different names and colour schemes, but space may be the determining factor, but even then, there is no reason that Sundays display has to be exactly the same as Saturdays, and this might give everyone supplying kits a fair crack of the whip.
This list will be kept at the top of this thread so please post your offers of builds and/or comments below it (or PM me or Shaun if you prefer) and I will keep the list active and updated.
Key: (B) - completed, ready to display; (U) - unbuilt as yet; (?) - current status unknown
The assumption is that kits listed below are by Airfix unless shown otherwise

Re: 2015 Display List of Models and Builders
Could any of these be useful?
I know the car is out, as it's 1/32, but I can build any of the others.
I also have a half completed Airfix Control Tower, with scratch interior detail.

1. Scammel Scarab - got one built and in green brewery livery with barrels on as the trailer load if needed.
2. Church - if you tell me the size it needs to slot into I will re-base it and tidy up churchyard. to fit your plan, and then you can have that for 12 months etc.
3. Civil War people - British grenadiers and union infantry - will paint up and get 12-15 of each side sorted and based in a field setting - again tell me size of board to use - these I will again loan out for 12 months.
4. JCB and The Rocket - these are fixed on those boards and if they are suitable as is - your welcome to them, I don't want to "un-base" them.
5. The traction engine - you are welcome to it for the weekend and any other shows thereafter I attend with the display ... I shamelessly put my name and "scale modeller" along the side where often one sees "Fred Smith ... Haulage Services" or suchline
6. As Telford weekend is Remembrance weekend, and I built this a few years ago, and each year find a couple new figures etc to add to it. You would be welcome to incorporate this if you would like it. for that weekend. It is on an 11" square cake board.
7. Other items - can offer a tank or two if they are appropriate, and will report back in day or two with what trains and engines and other items of that ilk, I can uproot and borrow.
Edited: If I rebase the church I will do it not in a frame which I guess is what you want. IF what I already have is "nearly good to go with an edged base - will not make myself excessive work and will just "do the essential work in the garden/churchyard"

Re: 2015 Display List of Models and Builders
Here is what I have available, all unbuilt except the 3 marked (and those are in kit markings).
I do not have any of the little paraphernalia that makes for an interesting scene.
I believe I have two, maybe more, of everything except the Stirling; but I may not know what is in some of the boxes either other than decals have not aged well.
I offer to build some, whatever fills our the display; you may suggest colors, names, and numbers and I will do my best.
I also want to look into my Airfix Magazines for anything interesting; and will update this after I do so.
Engines: Airfix and/or Kitmaster
Biggin Hill B-O-B Class
Class 92000 'Evening Star'
Saddle Tank 0-4-0
Schools Class 'Harrow'
Drewry 204HP Diesel Shunter
British Rail Mogul
Prairie Tank 2-6-2
Stirling 8ft Single
City of Truro
Early American General
Stephenson Rocket
Buildings, all Airfix
Country Inn
Engine Shed
Girder Bridge
Locomotive Turntable
Water Tower
Wagons, all Airfix
Brake Van (1 B)
Cattle Wagon (1 B)
Cement Wagon
15ton Diesel Locomotive Crane
Meat Wagon
Mineral Wagon
Refrigerator Van
Prestwin Silo Wagon
Esso Tank Wagon
Coaches, all Kitmaster, all w/Peco interiors except restaurant
B.R. Corridor 2nd
B.R. Corridor 2nd Brake (1 B **)
B.R. Corridor Composite
B.R. Restaurant 1st Coach
** The roof is loose, to show the interior; unfortunately it is a bit warped and will not sit closed up neatly without gluing it. Part of the problem is I also cracked it slightly so it's a bit fragile. If you want this, then tell me how you wish to display it and I'll get it sorted.

Ah, I see. That's a shame but thanks for letting me know. Knowing what a duffer I can be it is not beyond the realms of the imagination that I've actually got them in my loft in a box that came back from Telford or wherever and hasn't been looked in since!splash wrote:I'm not sure where the little Scarab and Auster finished up after the show as I did not need them backbeany wrote:Splash, I've been cheeky and volunteered your gorgeous little Scarab - hope that's OK? Excellent Al, this is the just the type of coordination thread a complex build theme needs and I hope everyone will use it accordingly.
Do you think, however, it might be useful to have a separate thread for the actual table design itself? otherwise I think everything together in this one thread might be a little overwhelming.

Re: 2015 Display List of Models and Builders
Well I haven't actually got any of the kits in the list but would be more than willing to build any of the buildings that I can get hold of, just let me know which ones . I do have some Parkside Dundas rolling stock kits but as they are from 1986 I think they are too young to be included.

** Edit - I actually think I might have an Airfix Cattle Wagon so I'll get that under way. **
** 2nd Edit - Do we want any of the Superquick card buildings? or are we sticking with plastic only? **

Re: 2015 Display List of Models and Builders
As I've said before, I don't have any railway models at all but I have thought about building a classic Airfix loco before and almost bought an Evening Star kit at Telford - which with hindsight I should have. The ES appeals and could also be built as a workaday Class 9F (get me suddenly becoming Mr Railways, yes, I've been on Wiki ). So, has anybody got a spare Evening Star kit they can flog me at a reasonable price or otherwise I'll have a look on King Kit's site or something.

Shaun: have a look at Dapol web site and find out new price for a start and then that will give you a guide to price. Kk will only have it at a stupid price because partly of the box.

I'd be delighted by any and all of those five vehicles Paul, as well as the Control Tower. I'd also be interested in the boxes as well if you'd be willing to mail them over so I could try and find a way of displaying them to promote Merit and Keil Kraft as lesser known but clearly relevant (for our display at least) CBK manufacturers.
