Re: Paul's Telford Builds 2015
Cheers, Alan - patience......
My usual technique - I coated the clear parts with...er...Klear, let them set for a few days, then superglued them to the plastic. Then it's just a question of sanding down until there are no steps and filling any joins. The engraved framing was lost in the process, so the replacement is decal strip.

The Magister/Hawk Trainer is finished:
And the pair together:
I need to work on the control tower now, and start on the bus.

Smart liveries
All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

Re: Paul's Telford Builds 2015
Just delivered to the airfield, the new clubhouse for the Kittingham Flying Club:
...and the fuselage of their new Beagle Terrier (converted from an Auster):
The clubhouse was made by combining the Coal Office and Platemaker's Shed from the Airfix Trackside Accessories kit, which I acquired a few years ago and was going to use as a squadron dispersal shed for a BoB diorama. I thought the airfield side of the layout needed a little filling out, so I am using it for this instead. I have ideas for various signs and odds & doodads, but hints on how to weather this would be greatly appreciated - the 'slate' roof looks a bit rough!
BTW, the other accessories in the kit have been made and painted, ready to ship with all the rest, to be added as necessary to the layout.
The Beagle Terrier was, in real life, a conversion of the Auster AOP.6, and so it goes in model form as well. Taking the old Auster Antarctic, I added three seats and created a new fin/rudder - that's about all there is to it! I haven't (obviously) finished it yet, but I should be able to get it done in the next couple of weeks, alongside a bunch of other projects I'm working on, most of which are not related to Telford...

Re: Paul's Telford Builds 2015
That's a cracking looking clubhouse Paul - fully licensed I would hope I'd probably approach the weathering with some dry brushing of various greys on the roof and an overall wash of heavily thinned black and/or Burnt Sienna to bring out the panels - easy does it though unless you want a heavily weathered look. That Beagle Terrier conversion looks interesting.

Hmmm, fully licensed - hadn't thought of that one - I'll have to add it to the sign!

The club house is brilliant little conversion, all it needs for a WWII seen is a bell some deck chairs and a black dog.

Re: Paul's Telford Builds 2015
Cheers, guys - it's a fun - and different - little project.
Which was the original plan, but our Telford scene is mid-sixties-ish. I'll need to acquire another set now, so I can do the original plan!splash wrote:The club house is brilliant little conversion, all it needs for a WWII seen is a bell some deck chairs and a black dog.
